Guillermo Borda
Managing Partner
Guillermo Borda is Managing Partner at HX Venture Fund in Houston, Texas. Guillermo is an experienced venture capital and private equity professional having spent most of his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in California and Texas. Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Guillermo started his career with Citigroup in New York City. Guillermo has held a variety of venture capital and private equity roles, including managing capital via large fund-of-funds for the four largest public pension funds in the US.
Guillermo holds an MBA and BA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. Guillermo is also a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute in Atlanta. Guillermo's expertise centers on raising institutional capital, investing in venture and private equity funds, and directly in portfolio companies, as well as coaching and supporting CEOs, company builders, and management teams in creating valuable enterprises. He has been a board member of various venture and private equity funds.
Guillermo currently serves as an advisor to Contemporary Leadership Advisors and the Institute of Contemporary Leadership in New York City and Mountain View, California. He is also an Advisory Board Member of Claremont Graduate University Peter F. Drucker's Financial Engineering Program in Claremont, California.

Andreas Galliker is a co-founder and managing partner at GSqr Consulting where he provides fund administrative services to HX Venture Fund. GSqr Consulting works to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Houston by providing finance and accounting consultancy services to Houston startups. Andreas is also the Vice President of Finance and Operations at Mercury Fund, where he supports the CFO and the investment team with financial reporting, due diligence and financial modeling. Prior to joining Mercury, Andreas worked with Cintrifuse, a Cincinnati-based venture capital fund-of-funds, and for Northcreek, a mid-market mezzanine fund. Prior to that, Andreas was a Mandate Manager for an Audit, Tax, and Financial Advisory Firm, where he was responsible for annual reporting, audit mandates, and investment accounts.
Andreas received his BBA in Finance, and his M.S. in Finance, where he was a UGS Scholar, from the University of Cincinnati. He received a Swiss certified specialist in accounting and finance degree (CPA equivalent) from the Institute of Higher Business Education in Lucerne, Switzerland and is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society Houston.

Aleece Hobson

Aleece Hobson is a Venture Partner leading the activation efforts at HX Venture Fund in Houston, Texas. She is responsible for connecting VCs, Houston startups, and the firm’s Limited Partners in ways that benefit Houston’s startup ecosystem. Aleece comes to HX Venture Fund with a background in the VC fund-of-funds industry, serving as the Investor Relations Manager at Weathergage Capital, a venture capital fund-of-funds managing approximately $1 billion in venture partnership commitments. She also has over 10 years of business strategy and development experience with an extensive involvement in event planning, relationship building, and strategic communication. Prior to Aleece’s venture fund-of-fund experience, she was a consultant at Hollinden | marketers + strategists and a Program Coordinator at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Aleece holds an MBA from Texas Woman’s University and a BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University. She is currently serving as the Director of Special Events Marketing for AMA Houston.

Winston Gilpin is a co-founder and managing partner at GSqr Consulting where he provides fund administrative services to HX Venture Fund. GSqr Consulting works to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Houston by providing finance and accounting consultancy services to Houston startups. Winston is also the Chief Financial Officer at Mercury Fund, where he is responsible for fund administration, accounting, human resources and all administrative services. Prior to joining Mercury, Winston served as the CFO for IREIT, a leader in direct web navigation, Perfomix, a software developer and INTERMAT, Inc (NYSE: IHS). Prior to joining INTERMAT held Controller and CFO positions a Partners Construction, Fogle Equipment Company, and Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube. Winston also held the position of Chief Accountant with the Municipal Credit Union of New York City. Winston has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of finance, strategic planning, contract administrations, risk management, sales, marketing, human resources, operations and executive management.
Winston attended St. John’s University and is currently a licensed CPA in the State of Texas.
